Assam Rifles authorities have reached an understanding with the Nepali community and local leaders of Kalapahar over the death of Kamal Kumar Chhetri (24) who was killed in a cross fire between troops of 14 Assam Rifles and militants at Chandraman Nepali village under Kangpokpi PS on Feb 17.Quoting Assam Rifles authorities, PIB Defence Wing in a statement said that the matter was resolved amicably today with the Assam Rifles expressing deep regret over the death of the young man and assuring full assistance to the family members of the deceased.
The statement further said that Kamal Kumar passed away despite the best efforts of the medical officer of 14 Assam Rifles.
