The 4th death anniversary of Ojha Sanajaoba Naoriya was held today at the Lairikyengbam Makha Leikai memorial complex of Ojha Sanajaoba (retired professor) .
The commemorative event organised by Ojha Sanajaoba Memorial Trust was attended by Kangla Fort Board Secretary Sairem Nilbir and Trust president Prof N Rajmuhon as the chief guest and functional president respectively with Manipur State Minority Commission Secretary Md Abdul Hakim Shah, Assistant Professor of Centre for Inclusive and Exclusive Studies (Manipur University) Dr Thathang Vaiphei and Political Science Professor of IGNTU/RCM Dr Ngalengam also gracing as the guests of honour.
Remembering Ojha Sanajaoba as an individual who endeavoured for peace and harmony in the multi-ethnic Manipuri society, Sairem Nilbir opined that chronicling the multi-personality Sanajaoba would be helpful for future references.
describing Ojha Sanajaoba as a dictionary of Manipur, Dr Ngalengam said various literatures and opinions on diverse socio-political issues expressed by the departed professor will forever remain inspirational for the new generation.
According to Dr Thathang Vaiphei Ojha Sanajaoba's philosophy and vision are very much relevant and revered by the hill people.
He also affirmed that in case Ojha's principles could be translated into action there would be lasting peace and harmony in Manipur.
The Sangai Express (Manipuri) columnist H Sanajaoba, social activist Dr Dhanabir Laishram, Md Abdul Hakim Shah and Prof N Rajmuhon also elaborated on Ojha Sanajaoba's activities and aspiration.
