The matter of lifting the ban on recruitment of teachers which would pave the way for recruitment of teachers in school where the existing teaching staff is not sufficient would be tabled in a Cabinet meeting, stated Edu-cation Minister M Okendro.
The Education Minister today made a spot assessment of Indira Government Aided Junior High School located under Kangpokpi sub-division at Irang Part-I .
The inspection team led by the Education Minister included Kangpokpi AC MLA Nemcha Kipgen, Sugnu AC MLA K Ranjit and Education Director H Deleep.
Speaking at a reception function organised by the School Management Development Committee at the playground of Indira Government Aided Junior High School, Okendro conceded that around 194 post of Elementary school teachers remain vacant.
The matter would be tabled in a Cabinet meeting in consultation with the Chief Minister so that the vacant posts can be filled up and the newly recruited teachers distributed among 604 aided schools, Okendro said.
Notably the School Management Development Committee is a collective body of 10 Elementary schools which are receiving grant-in-aid from the Government.
