Imphal, October 10::
Recalling the forcible annexation of the then independent kingdoms of Kamatapur, Manipur and Tripura to the Indian Union, three underground outfits of the North East and Eastern region have called upon the people to unite and struggle to regain the sovereign stature enjoyed earlier.
A joint statement of Kamotapur Liberation Organization, Manipur Peoples' Liberation Front and Tripura peoples Democratic Front stressing on strengthening the traditional bond of brotherhood among the people of the region also cautioned all to be wary of the Indian policy of Vietnamisation to pitch one ethnic group against the another.
Going back to history, the statement elaborated on the events that led to the annexation of Kamotapur, Manipur and Tripura through deceit and urged the people of Sikkim to stand for their rights.
Terming the inclusion of Sikkim to India in 1975 as India's ploy to nullify all attempts by the people of the region to demand restoration of Indias pre-independence status, the statement said the three revolutionary organizations have joined hands to defeat the divide and rule policy of India.
