The bodies of the six UGs who were killed by personnel of 21 Bn Special Force (Para Commando) during an en- counter at Hingjol village located between Churachandpur dist and Chandel dist on October 8 were deposited at RIMS morgue today, said sources.
Three of the bodies have also been identified by family members who came to the morgue today.
The identities of the three have been established as Leimapkopam Labanga alias Ningthouren (30) of Leimapokpam Khunpham, Thokchom Romen alias Thoiba (18) of Ningthoukhong Bazar and Chongtham Sanatomba alias Daingo (25) of Malom Awang Leikai.
According to family members, Labanga joined the UG movement about ten years back and had been arrested on two occasion from Moirang and Leimapokpam.
He had not returned home for the last two years after being released.
Th Romen joined the underground movement about 2 /3 years back and was never arrested.
Chongtham Sanatomba who had left home to become a truck driver in Assam a year back never returned home.
Sources also said that security personnel of 21 Bn Special Force (Para Commando) and 27th Madras Regiment arrested three persons including an eleven year old boy and recovered an AK 47 rifle along with ammunition from Tuitom Khongkhai village on the same day.
They were later handed over to the concerned Police station.
The three persons who were handed over to the police were Seiboi (11), Lunakholien (17) and Longkhoman (30).All of them are reported to be from Tuitom Village.
