Imphal, October 10::
To enhance speedy communication between the Deputy Commissioners and the Chief Minister video conferencing equipment would be provided by next year under the material assistance of Union Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
Informed source stated that the video conferencing facilities are to be extended to the state following a proposal to the Ministry.
Informing that the facilities between the CM and DCs offices would also be inter-linked with the Chief Secretarys office room, it said National Informatics Centre will handle the task of implementing the techno project.
Even though the Union Ministry has approved the State Governments proposal a final nod from the Centre is awaited to activate the project, said the source while adding that instead of providing finance the Ministry would provide necessary equipment.
The equipment consisting of 80 computer sets and 33 VSATs are scheduled to arrive in Manipur in November last week.
