To spread mass awareness on the developmental programmes and schemes being taken up by the Central as well as State Government for the welfare of the people, the Multi-media information campaign has started begun from today at the indoor stadium complex of Senapati district.
The campaign is to cover all the nine districts of the State.
The inaugural function of today's campaign which will go on for three days under the joint aegis of Senapati District Information Office and District administration of Senapati was attended by TD Minister DD Thaisii and Deputy Commissioner of Senapati K Thangsang as chief guest and president respectively.
To inaugurate the campaign being launched under the theme of 'Delivery of services and benefits to people in development process', the chief guest cut the ribbon to dedicate the stalls of various Departments put up for public display and inquiries.
It was followed by the opening song presented by the students of Mount Everest College, Senapati.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, TD Minister said that the campaign aimed to provide a common platform where both the Government employees and the people could interact.
Besides, the opportunity to be extended to the people for knowing the developmental activities being taken up by the Government for them, people can raised complaint and cleared their misgivings, the Minister said.
The Minister also sought the co-operation of the people in ensuring the success of the developmental schemes and programmes being taken up by the Govt with a sense of responsibility and duty.
In his presidential address, Deputy Commissioner of Senapati K Thangsang observed that people should always remain aware and alert of the developmental activities of the Government and assured that the Government employees would try their level best in ensuring the benefits reach the people.
During the course of the three-day long campaign, various resource persons would be delivering lecturers on issues related to Government sponsored schemes like HIV/AIDS, Rights to Information Act, National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Special Employment Generation Programme, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, National Rural Health Mission, etc.
