Imphal, April 08:
Meeyamgi Yaipha Maikei, Sekmaijin Khunou has decried the alleged failure of the Forest Department and its officials concerned to come and pick up an injured Sangai fawn (brow antler deer and State animal) that has been strayed into human habitation area inspite of being informed repeatedly.
According to secretary general of the organisation NC Sanjoy, the fawn was rescued by the local residents in an injured condition from Sekmaijin Maning Leikai (Thoubal district) area early in the morning today after it swam across Manipur river and strayed into human habitation area.
Information had been given to the Chief Wild Lid Warden, but till late evening no one has come to pick up the animal, Sanjoy lamented.
