Imphal, April 08:
Even as all passenger services including buses, Tata Sumos and Vans have ceased work along Imphal-Moreh Road following monetary demands from various UG groups, transport operators have also stopped their passenger bus services on Tiddim line for an indefinite period with effect from today over the same issue.
Meanwhile, decrying monetary demand imposed on it and its associated societies and association, All Manipur Auto-rickshaw Owners and Drivers' Association has decided to stage a Wakat Meepham from 9 am to 4 pm tomorrow at Hatta Kangjeibung.
With the failure of the State Govt and other authorities concerned to give a positive response to its demand and appeal, the JAC Imphal-Moreh Road Transporters has announced its decision of intensifying the ongoing agitation of not plying vehicles from tomorrow.
In a statement, general secretary of the JAC Ng Haridas Singh has warned that any diesel operated vehicles like autorickshaw, Tata magic and private vans plying along the said route taking advantage of the ongoing agitation should bear with the consequences.
In case of necessity, prior permission of the JAC should be sought, the statement said, while informing that a joint meeting of the vehicle owners has been convened tomorrow at 8 am at Iboyaima Sanglen, Palace Compound.
