Manipur Self Employment Mission (MSEM) today cautioned the people of some investment companies luring with getting huge amount within a short time by investing
small amount.
Briefing reporters at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club today, president of MSEM, N Shyamkishore revealed that as per brochure of a network called National Self Employment Mission (NSEM) brought into the state by one Tongkai Haokip and his wife in the state in December 2008 two categories of investment policy were introduced.
The two investment plans assure that when a person invest Rs 17,550 and Rs 5850, investors will get an amount of Rs 25 lakh and 8 lakh respectively in a year lured the people and campaign for investing.
They had collected several crores of rupees from around 50,000 members till June 2009 and after started issuing some checks to two or three investors, saying that there is no growth, further issue of checks to other investors had stopped.
When investors agitated against them, they again lured the investors saying that the production started and employee them in selling the products convincing that it has been taken up to recoup the lost amount to certain extends.
But as the products could not compatible, people agitate again.
The president further said that many people invested by selling out or mortgaging their properties believing to the investment scheme.
But now they are facing financial difficulties.
In this context, now people need to be taken cautioned of such companies.
A JAC of the investors has been form and a meeting will be held on April 9 at MDU to discuss on the matter, he informed.
Meanwhile, the NSEM Product(s) Private Ltd, Manipur today requested all concerns not to publish any matter related with the company without prior approval of the competent authority of the company and official letter head in the interest of the public and NSEM Distributors of Manipur.
