Imphal, April 07 2010:
General secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC), North East in-Charge and member of Congress Working Committee (CWC), Luizinho Faleiro arrived in Imphal today amidst anxious expectations in certain quarters of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) that his visit may have something to do with effecting a reshuffle in the Council of Ministers led by Chief Minister O Ibobi.
However, replying to a question of a journalist, the AICC leader said that reshuffling the Ministry depends on the Chief Minister's desire.
The party's High Command doesn't have much to say on or interfere in the decision taken by the Chief Minister after consulting with leaders of the state unit of the party.

As soon as Faleiro arrived in Imphal by an Indian Airlines flight this afternoon, he attended a meeting of the executive committee of MPCC at Congress Bhavan on BT Road here.
Sources in the MPCC said that the meeting discussed various agenda such as organising celebrations of the 125th birth anniversay of Indian National Congress, review of election manifesto, organisational matters, election of Autonomous District Councils, election of MPCC president, proposed visit of Congress president, Sonia Gandhi to Imphal to inaugurate the three newly constructed market complexes and also the Rajiv Gandhi Shopping mall, etc.
The AICC General Secretary also met the state Chief Minister, O Ibobi at his office and had discussions with him.
It is not yet known what the two leaders discussed.
Later, Faleiro attended a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) held at the conference hall of the Chief Minister's secretariat.
The sources said, among other agenda, the meeting discussed the proposed visit of party president Sonia Gandhi to Imphal, probably in May.
However, since the elections to the Autonomous District Councils are scheduled to be held in May, whether the party president's visit and inauguration of the three market complexes woul violate the election code of conduct or not was discussed at the meeting.
The meeting agreed to chalk out the itinerary schedule of the party president soon, the sources said.
After attending the CLP meeting, the AICC General Secretary attended yet another meeting of the members of the Manipur State Coordination Committee at about 6 pm, where strategies for the District Council elections were discussed.
Earlier in the evening, Faleiro, accompanied by MPCC president and MLA Gaikhangam and other party leaders, inspected the Rajiv Gandhi Shopping complex presently under construction on the campus of Congress Bhavan just next to BT Road.
He will visit and inspect the three Ema markets tomorrow at 10 am.
The three market complexes are getting readied for inauguration.
In between his tight schedules today, while talking to media-persons for a short while, L Faleiro said that since the celebration of the 125th birth anniversary of INC started on December 24 last year, Sonia Gandhi had visited Meghalaya and Mizoram, and she is also going to visit Manipur.
He said, Congress will sweep the forthcoming District Council elections.
The people of Manipur have now realised and placed full faith in the party.
