There will be a rally all over the states of India on May 6 demanding to implement 6th Pay Commission in all the states of the country, said K.Balasubramanian general secretary of All India State Government Employees Confederation (AISGEC) on Wednesday in Imphal.
He disclosed this to the media persons after meeting separately with the chief minister of Manipur and the Joint Administrative Council of All Manipur Trade Union Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees Organisation (AMGEO) in connection with the ongoing state government employees' agitation.
The all India general secretary of AISGEC while meeting with O.Ibobi Singh submitted a memorandum for 'implementation of 6th Central revised pay'.
Speaking to the media, Balasubramanian asserted that New Delhi, Haryana Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Arunachal Pradesh and Pondicherry had already implemented the 6th pay commission since January 1,2006 while Tamil Nadu, Meghalaya, Rajasthan and some other states followed suit from January 1,2007 .
He noted that the state government of Manipur with the difference gap of atleast 4 years and 3 months is trying to implement the said revised pay from April 1,2010, adding to add woes to the agitating employees, the state government is yet to pay their arrears.
As a bridge between the state government and the JAC, he disclosed that the chief minister of Manipur is ready for amicable solution and will invite the JAC at the earliest.
The general secretary further disclosed that the chief minister told him (Balasubramanian) during the meeting that negotiation is the only way to bring an amicable solution.
In the memorandum, the general secretary of AISGEC contended that the benefits of the state government employees may be considered at par with the Central norms.
It stated that implementation of 6th Central revised pay as accepted by the Government of India in toto with cash from January 1, 2006 along with admissible allowance at par with the Central government employees.
It also stated that the pensionery benefit may be adopted for the state government employees while implementing the 6th Central revised pay without any modification w.e.f January 1,2006 among others.
