Imphal, December 01 2015:
As the RIMS authority alle-gedly fails to translate its verbal assurance given to the contract employees of RIMS, Imphal into action, the non-teaching contract staff of the institute carried on their agitation today too.
In a statement, the contract staff of RIMS said that they decided to continue the agitation as the assurance given by the RIMS Medical Superintendent yesterday to the con- tract staff has not been translated into action.
The contract staff urged the patient parties and patients to bear the inconveniences caused to them by the strike.
The non-teaching contract employees of RIMS shut down the Administrative Block and OPD Block of the institute yesterday demanding service regularisation and pay increment.
Meanwhile, the Director, RIMS held a meeting with the representatives of non-teaching contract staff today in her office.
As per proceedings of the meeting available with the press, it was decided that the matter for enhancement of pay of contract employees of RIMS would be taken up with the Ministry once information is received from NEIGRIHMS, Shillong without any delay.
It was also decided that RIMS authority would immediately take steps to prepare initial reservation roster in respect of Grade-IV and Grade-III employees.
The representatives of the contract employees have been asked to nominate about four contract employees who will coordinate and assist the authority while preparing reservation roster.
Thereafter, the advertisement for vacant posts will be issued and start the selection process.
The Director, RIMS, Imphal stated that the request for regularisation of all contract employees is not possible but rather it can be done to the extent of available vacant posts.
