Imphal Literature Festival from Dec 4

Imphal, December 01 2015:
The four-day Imphal Literature Festival organised by Sahitya Thoupang Lup (Sathoulup) will commence from December 4 to 7 next at Lamyanba Shanglen of Palace Compound.
Manipuri writers and language activists from Myanmar, Bangladesh, Assam and Tripura will also take part in the festival, said a release issued by Sahitya Thoupang Lup.
Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai and Art and Culture Secretary K Radhakumar will attend the inauguration function as Chief Guest and President respectively.
Ak Sheram from Bangladesh and K Sundargopal from Myanmar will be the Special Guests of the function.
Poetry books "Nong amadi Upambi" authored by Manipuri poet of Bangladesh, Konthoujam Suranjit and "Pebetki Pena" authored by Chingkhei Angom will also be released on the day.
Prominent translator Rajkumar Brajendra Singh will be awarded with Nongthombam Kunjamohan Prize.
Poets from Myanmar, Bangladesh, Assam and Tripura will recite their verses during the the function which will be graced by S Bhanumati (Manipur), Harikumar Awangtabam (Myanmar), Khoirom Indrajit (Bangladesh), N Dilip (Tripura) and L Shruti Kumar (Assam) as Presidium Members.
On the second day of the festival, various programmes will be held at Loktak.
The programme will be sponsored by Loktak Khorjei Lup.
A programme will also be held on the third day at Kakching.
A rally on the theme of "Pen and Peace" will be organised in Kakching sponsored by Library and Information Centre, Kakching.
A symposium on "Lam amagi houjik oiriba Sahitya gi phivam" and poem recitation will also be held during the programme.
The closing ceremony of the festival will be held on December 7 at LLYC Ground, Sagolband.
On the last day, sponsored by Lukram Leirak Youth Club, a Shumang Leela by Sana Leipak Nachom Artiste, Imphal will also be staged.
