Ningol Chakkouba greetings pour in

Imphal, November 11 2015:
Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Lokeshwar and Deputy Speaker MK Preshow Shimray have extended greetings to the people of the State on the occasion of the Ningol Chakkouba.
In his message to the people of the State, the Assembly Speaker termed Ningol Chakkouba as the most important festival of the State.
On this day, the married sisters are invited over by the brothers to a feast at their parental homes reinforcing the unbreakable bond of love between brothers and sisters.
He wished that the spirit of love and affection of the celebration would spread across communities for peaceful co-existence and a better Manipur.

The Deputy Speaker in his message prayed that the celebration would strengthen the bond of love and unity among all communities living in the State.
Rajya Sabha MP Haji Abdul Salam has also greeted the people on the occasion.
In his message the MP prayed for unity and peace among the various communities in the State.
Communist Party of India, Manipur State Council, All Manipur Muslims (Meitei Pangal) Welfare Association (AMPWA), Meetei International Civic Action Network (MICAN), Khurai, All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMES- CO) have also wished the people on the auspicious occasion of Ningol Chakkouba.
The United Committee Manipur (UCM) has also extended hearfelt greetings the people on the occasion of Ningol Chakkouba today.
In its message, the committee said the festival is one of the most important celebrations of the State.
The festival strengthens the bond of love between brothers and sisters and reinforces the idea of oneness among the people.
The committee wished for a prosperous and peaceful celebration.
