Leesana fondly remembered at BB Paul Mental Development Home

In fond memory of Late Soubam Leesana, also known as Rison of Sega Road Konjeng Hajari Leikai, who passed away on March 21 last in an unfortunate road mishap near Maibam Lokpa Ching, Tiddim Road, the Leesana Foundation donated food items for the inmates of BB Paul Mental Development Home, Mongsangei on Wednesday.
The simple yet solemn donation function was attended by BB Paul Mental Development Home Parents' Association President M Ashinikumar, Secretary N Tanuja, All Manipur Mentally Handicapped Persons' Welfare Oraganisation Secretary Y Ibechaobi, Leesana Foundation President Soubam Anilkumar and Secretary Soubam Niladhaja who is also the owner and publisher of Hueiyen Lanpao dailies.

Speaking on the occasion, All Manipur Mentally Handicapped Persons' Welfare Oraganisation Secretary Y Ibechaobi informed that the organisation she represents was established with the objective of providing welfare measures to differently abled persons.
The differently abled persons, specifically the mentally challenged are now being sheltered at BB Paul Mental Development Home.
As of now the home also has a special school, vocational training centre, a residential home and training centre.
Ibechaobi said that the special school for the mentally retarded and the vocational training centre have received some funds from the ministry of social justice and empowerment.
However, the residential home and training centre have no source of funding so far.
She expressed deep gratitude to the Leesana Foundation for the philanthropic deed performed by donating food items to the home.
She exuded confidence that the foundation would continue to engage in such noble causes in the future.
Special invitee to the function and Hueiyen Lanpao columnist Soibamcha Indrakumar on the occasion said that a person's calibre and good deeds are accounted for only after he or she leaves the world.
He said late Soubam Leesana, also known as Rison, during his lifetime was a philanthropist by nature who always wanted to help the deprived sections of the society.
In order to keep alive his firm belief in uplifting the society and to spread the message of true compassion, a film will be made on Leesana's life by 2017 .
BB Paul Mental Development Home Parents' Association President M Ashinikumar said that the passing away of Leesana was a big loss to the society.
He also hoped that the foundation would be able to highlight Leesna's contributions through the initiation of noble works.
BB Paul Mental Development Home Parents' Association Secretary N Tanjua expressed deep sorrow on recalling the passing away of a noble human being like Leesna on behalf of the home.
She wished success to the foundation's future endeavours.
A two-minute silence was observed by everyone present in the home in memory of Leesana.
It may be mentioned that Leesna had always stood for the downtrodden, the poor and homeless.
He was a self-less individual who believed in true equality of all human beings.
