Saving human lives are the prime duties of doctors and nurses who are in the medical profession and there is no difference between hills and valley when it comes to rendering health services, stated Health and Family Welfare Minister Phungzathang Tonsing.
Speaking at the 1st Year BSc Nursing Student's Foundation Day and oath taking ceremony at College Nursing Conference Hall of Medical Directorate, Lamphelpat as Chief Guest, Phungzathang said that every patient cannot be cured by doctors or medicines prescribed by them.

Manipur Government has started giving special focus to health services to let people lead a healthy life.
State Cabinet on October 28 last approved to upgrade Districts Hospitals of Kangpokpi, Jiribam and sub-district hospitals of Moreh apart from other Community Health Centres (CHS) and Public Health Centres (PHC) and said this was a big achievement in health sector.
Phungzathang further stated that government and private hospital doctors have began holding regular meetings to bring about amicable relation between doctors and public.
Urging the public to stop "attacking" doctors and nurses and not to vandalise hospitals, which are public properties; the minister appealed the public to forward their grievances to the Government so that it could take actions.
If doctors and nurses are committed to their work, their efforts will not be wasted and will help in bringing a good and healthy society, added Phungzathang.
