The proposed general strike from the night of January 15 till 6 pm of January 16 has been deferred to January 18 night till 6 pm of the next day.
A statement issued by the Joint Action Committee Against the Brutal Killing of L Govind, Shimthar Tangkhul and Injuring of A Lanngamba, informed that the postponement is in consideration of the Gaan Ngai festival and the proposed Manipur bandh from the night of January 14 till the evening of January 15 in connection with the killing of Indrasen of Samurou.
However, there would be change in the schedule for mass rally tomorrow at 10 am which would now pass through New Checkon, Minuthong, North AOC, Khoyathong before winding up at THAU ground, added the statement.
Further the JAC appealed to all organisations and people to support the JAC in its various endeavours to book the culprits and bring justice.
Another statement issued jointly by DESAM, AMSU and MSF has appealed to all the people to take part in the mass rally tomorrow while urging the Govt to track down the killers and book them under law.
