Two women were injured when two rival militant groups clashed at Churachandpur district in the wee hours of January 11.Police sources said that the two women were injured when two rival groups engaged in a fierce gun fight at Lunthilien village under Parbung police station.
The two groups could be the UNLF and the HPC (D), said police sources.
Lunthilien village is located about nine kilometres north west of Parbung police station.
The gun fight ensued for about half an hour in which the two rival sides exchanged heavy gun fight.
The two local women who were injured in the heavy exchange of gun fire have been identified as Mrs Tochil and Mrs Lunpui.
Tochil suffered a bullet injury on the left thigh while the latter received a bullet wound on the right hand.
The two are being treated at the village, added police.
