There is no hope of any help coming to North East other than from the races of Mongoloid stock settled in our neighbouring countries.
This was disclosed by the former Director of AIR, Imphal, N Pahari during a book release function held at Manipur Press Club today.
Addressing as chief guest, in the book release function of Manipuri translation of Bertil Litner's �Land of Jade� by S Hemanta Singh, editor of Eikhoigi Panthung, Pahari remarked that the people of Manipur would be highly benefited by the book.
Observing that the travelogue accounting the experience of Litner during his sojourn of North East India and Burma is very detailed and authentic, Pahari noted that the book would contribute immensely to a pan-Mongoloid movement.
Prof N Tombi who presented an introduction of the Manipuri translation observed that the �Land of Jade� written by journalist Bertil Litner presents a clear picture of racially similar North East India and Burma's economic, political and social conditions.
Commending on the translation, the professor remarked that it would prove to be not only a thrilling and an adventurous story but also though provoking even if there are some shortfalls in the translation which would be improvised in the next edition.
President of the All Manipur Working Journalists� Union, Bijoy Kakchingtabam presiding the function described that the Swedish journalist Bertil Litner has become an authority of Northern Burma and his works are now being used for references by scholars and students alike for their research works.
