'Gift of Life' beneficiaries leave for CSD treatment

Under the 'Heart to heart' project of Rotary club Imphal and 'Gift of Life' project of Rotary international, three children with Congenital Heart Disease (CSD) left Imphal for Fortis Escorts heart Institute, Delhi where they will undergo open heart surgery.
According to an RCI statement issued by its Public Relations Committee chairman W Kened Kumar, 29 children who needed similar treatment had already been sponsored by the Rotarians with the latest batch seen off at Tulihal Airport on February 25 by RCI president Dr Madhumangal Singh, secretary L Manoranjan Singh and other Rotarians of the Club.
The latest beneficiaries of the RCI endeavour have been named as M Yoiheiba (3 years/male) of Wabagai in thoubal district, S Mercy Kabui (7 yrs/female) of Uchiwa Kabui village and P mercy (17/female) of Nongdam village in Ukhrul district.
Further informing that next screening of children will be conducted soon, the statement also conveyed that RCI will organise cancer awareness programme and distribution of crutches at Moreh on March 5, in association with Meetei Council Moreh.
Meanwhile, RCI felicitated its past presidents Rotarians Dr Kh Palin Singh of Shija Hospital and Dr Th Dhabali of Babina Diagnostic Centre at Classic Hotel on February 25 on being conferred the prestigious North East Excellence Award in its first and second editions (2009 & 2010) respectively.
