Decrying alleged abduction of school student Sagar Prasad by a group of KCP-MC, students took out a silent protest rally in Kangpokpi area of Sadar Hills today.
On the other hand, with the constitution of a joint action committee against the abduction of Sagar Prasad, it has been decided to call 24 hours bandh in Sadar Hills area from February 28 midnight if the student is not released by the same date.
After the protest rally held under the aegis of KSO, Sadar Hills, a memorandum was submitted to Chief Minister Okram Ibobi urging safe release of Sagar Prasad.
The protest rally strongly condemned abduction of school student.
Sagar Prasad (13) of Kangpokpi Ward No 8 was reportedly abducted by a group of KCP-MC from Sapermeina on February 20 .

Sagar Prasad was abducted in connection with a monetary demand of Rs 50 lakhs served to his father.
The silent protest rally which began from Kangpokpi Thomas other students were herded away till Moirangkhom oil pump.
The memorandum meant for submission to the CM highlighted plight and anxiety of the Government school students due to prolonged abstention of duty by the striking teachers.
It also complained on inaction on the part of the Government to resolve the protracted agitation of the teachers who are demanding implementation of the 6th Central Revised Pay recommendation, it toto.
The memorandum also set February 28 deadline for ensuring normal conduct of classes failing which intense agitation would be launched by the students under the Coordination Committee.
