KNF calls for unity on its Rising Day

Kuki National Front, a SoO signatory group under UPF celebrated its 28th rising day at Camp Ebenezer Natheljang, Sadar Hills with mass prayer and condolence yesterday, our correspondent reports.
KNF was founded on May 18, 1987 by late Nehlun Kipgen and other prominent Kuki leaders of the time.
KNF supremo ST Thangboi hoisted the Front's flag.
A minute silence was also observed in respect of the late cadres of the outfit led by Lala Kipgen, defence secretary.
A mass prayer was also conducted as part of the observation.
Speaking at the occasion, ST Thangboi, president, KNF said the outfit is the oldest Kuki militant group among Kuki community.
Thangboi while asserting that disunity had destabilized the society said that Kuki militant outfits which have been formed for the cause of the Kuki community should eschew communal activities.
The president also appealed to all the revolutionary groups and factions of the Kuki society to work in unity and welcome all like-minded and patriotic individuals, groups and factions to share the burden of its struggle collectively.
Kuki militant outfits under the umbrella of UPF and KNO have been under Suspension of Operation with the Government and it is best on the part of the every militant outfits under SoO agreement not to violate ground rules, the KNF supremo stated.
