Imphal, May 19 2015 :
Manipur Alliance for Child Rights urges the militants and civil society organisations to help fight child trafficking problem in the State.
The matter came up as two missing boys from a children home at Deulaland are yet to be located despite public notice and reporting to the police.
In a press meet Montu Ahanthem, Co Convenor of the Alliance said that if any militant groups had recruited them, they should be set free as recruitment of child soldiers would bring a bad name to the revolutionary movement.
The Alliance also appealed to the State Authority to fill the vacant post of Chairman, Manipur State Commission for Child Rights.
The authority of the Children Home, Manipur Mahila Kalyan Samiti also claimed that one of the missing boys has eye problem and needs to be treated else he might get blind forever while another boy has knee problem.
It may be mentioned that the children are missing since May 9, 2015 when they set out for school at Lilasing Khongnangkhong High School Thangmeiband.
