The Manorama Death Inquiry Commission is all set to prepare its report very soon as the probe panel examined its last witness today.
Except for hearing the final arguments on Nov 4, the probe panel will prepare its finding probably within Nov 12, the deadline set by the Govt, said a source.
Bullet riddled body of Thangjam Manorama (32) was found near Laipharok Maring Village on the morning of July 11 after she was picked up by men of 17 AR from her Bamon Kampu residence the previous night.
The commission headed by C Upendra Singh Retd Dist and Session Judge recorded the statements of its last witness namely Thangja Maring of Laipharok Maring Village today.
A principal of a local private school, Khamba had earlier deposed before the panel that he had heard gun shots on the morning of July 11, while he was at his residence.
As many as 37 witnesses have been examined by the commission.
They include the victim's mother younger brothers, State Forensic experts, police Officers of Irilbung PS, six AR personnel among others.
When crossed examined by Col T Prasatl counsel On behalf of 17 AR today, Khamba Maring testified that from a close distance of about 7 to 8 ft, he would be able to differentiate and identify police, CRPF, AR and Manipur Rifles, Army and BSF personnel by seeing their shoulder badges.
The witness also said that he had not given any statement to the police on the.Manorama issue and added that he did not know whether his brother was present at his house on the morning of July 11.
