With the stated objective of taking up effective preventive measures and eradication of Malaria from Manipur, the State Government has given the green signal to the internationally recognized, Holland based, Medicine Sans Frontiers to conduct the necessary research in Manipur for a year and to come out with their suggestions.
Talking to The Sangai Express, an official source said that towards this purpose, Dr Ameida of the Medicine Sans Frontier is currently in Imphal.
The team will proceed to the interior parts of the State, where Malaria is rampant and conduct the necessary studies and research work and put forward its report.
The research work will be conducted hot only to eradicate Malaria from Manipur but from the whole world, said the source.
The team will also study the traditional method used by the people to fight the disease, said the source.
The report of the NGO will be submitted to the State Government, said the source adding that if they cannot finalise their research work within one year, then the State Govt will extend the period by another year.
Process of constructing an office for the team to conduct its research work has also started, said the source and added that the research work will benefit the people of the State who have had to bear the scourge of Malaria for long.
