CPI demands urea, irrigation; IFM distributes urea

Imphal, July 16 2022:
CPI Hiyanglam Local Council has urged authority concerned to distribute urea on time to farmers while cautioned that failure to ensure timely application of the same may lead to drastic loss in yield of paddy crop which in turn can affect food self-sufficiency of the state.
In a release, CPI Hiyanglam Local Council secretary U Rajmohan also urged authority concerned to provide irrigation water for farm lands which are totally dry as well as in fields where paddy seedlings have been sown but are facing water scarcity.
Meanwhile, Irabot Foundation Manipur (IFM) has stated that its mobile team with support from agriculture (fertiliser) officer N Santakumar and his staff distributed 300 urea bags at low cost to farmers from Friday to Saturday.
IFM mentioned that the urea was distributed through its branches at Kakching Khunou Cheksapat, Senjam Chaprou in Imphal West district and Taretkhul, Nongsun, Lamboikhul, Uyumpok in Imphal East district.
