Tree plantation programmes held

Many conducted tree plantation drive as a part of 'World Environment Day' celebration yesterday.
Assam Rifles
Moreh and Mantripukhri Battalions under the aegis of IGAR(South) organised a Tree Plantation drive in Moreh and Imphal East on June 5 towards promoting the 'Go Green Initiative'.
The tree plantation drive was conducted on the occasion of World Environment Day with an aim to control the global warming, make environment pollution free and spread awareness on importance of clean environment.
As part of initiative, saplings were planted by the troops of Assam Rifles.
During the event, the troops were educated about the importance of trees in maintaining the ecological equilibrium.
Border Security Forces
113 Battalion BSF under the aegis of SHQ HQ CI (ops) BSF Manipur observed World Environment Day 2021 by conducting mass plantation of trees by the troops at Headquarters and all CI post located at four different district of Manipur.
The mass plantations led by Hidam Shubol Singh, Commandant of the Battalion was participated by all Officers and Ranks and planted 900 saplings of various fruit bearing and medicinal plants.
The troops of the unit took a pledge to protect and safeguard the environment.
The unit is planning to plant about 8000 more trees during the current year � to protect and maintain healthy green environment of the state.
CRPF
As part of CRPF's continuing effort to make Earth Greener, 69 Battalion CRPF also observed 'World Environment Day' yesterday at its HQs Mantripukhri spearheaded by Bajrang Lal, Commandant-69 Battalion with all the unit officers and their families.
About 200 saplings were planted in and around the campus.
Lamlai Mapari Thougal Lup
5000 high yielding variety of Papaya were planted at villages in Nongren Chingnungkhok Gram Panchayat and 5000 bitter beans (Yongchak) saplings were planted in 15 hill villages included in Lamlai AC including Laikot Kharam, Phaiyol Khul, Thayong Kom, Tuesenphai, Nongtnaiband amongst other.
The tree and fruit plantation was organised by Lamlai Mapari Thougal Lup under the supervision of Sapam Kangleipal.
