Nine deaths, 823 new positive cases detected

Imphal, June 06 2021:
The state on Sunday reported nine fatalities and 823 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 8773 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
After witnessing decline in detection of new cases, Sunday witnessed 800-plus infections, after five days of registering below 800 daily new cases.
The last time the state crossed the 800-mark was on May 31 when government bulletins reported 869 new cases.
However, the daily positivity rate remains below 10 per cent as on Sunday.
So far, 27,042 positive cases and 526 fatalities have been reported since the beginning of the current year.
The current month saw addition of 4479 new cases and 74 fatalities while 5348 new cases and 88 fatalities were added in the last seven days.
According to official reports, the 823 new cases included 821 people (417 male & 404 female) from among the general population and 2 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) .
Their samples were tested at RIMS (40), JNIMS (21), District Hospitals (526) and other testing centres (236) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (192), Imphal West (245), Thoubal (86), Bishnupur (49), Kakching (69), Ukhrul (12), Churachandpur (71), Chandel (6), Senapati (1), Tamenglong (3), Tengnoupal (14), Kangpokpi (7), Kamjong (9), Jiribam (56) and Noney (1) .

All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee reported nine Covid 19 deaths on Sunday.
The victims were from Imphal West (3), Imphal East (4), Kakching (1) and Kangpokpi (1) .
One of them died at RIMS, five at JNIMS and three at Raj Medicity.
The cumulative number of deaths is 881 .
In the last 24 hours, 646 patients were discharged from home isolation (478), RIMS (9), JNIMS (3) and Covid care facilities (156) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 55,230 (general population - 51,463 and CAPF personnel - 3,767).Number of recovered cases is 45,165 (general population - 41,410 and CAPF personnel - 3,755) and number of active cases is 9,184 (general population - 9,177 and CAPF personnel - 7) .
The recovery rate is 81.77 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1863 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 549B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
District Hospitals and government institutions have 419D and 84B filled cylinders and district/sub-division wise stock position is Bishnupur (71D, 15B), Chandel (32D, 7B), Churachandpur (89D, 0B), Senapati (32D, 0B), Thoubal (51D, 20B), Ukhrul (29D, 0B), Tamenglong (30D, 5B), Jiribam (36D, 10B), Moreh (19D, 5B), Kamjong (3D, 1B), Kangpokpi (3D, 0B), Kakching (16D, 19B), Noney (2D, 0B) and Parbung (6D,2B), as per the government release.
As of Saturday, 4,22,872 individuals have been vaccinated against Covid-19 with 80,885 completely inoculated.
Meanwhile, 27 new positive cases were detected in Kakching district on Sunday out of 283 samples tested.
One was detected at Ema Hospital, 11 at Jivan Hospital and 15 at government RAT Centre.
One of them is a resident of Thoubal district while the remaining others are from Kakching district.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (19,808), Imphal East (12,820), Thoubal (4175), Churachandpur (4078), Kangpokpi (1508), Tamenglong (1884), Bishnupur (3080), Senapati (1259), Ukhrul (1190), Kakching (2375), Chandel (940), Noney (521), Tengnoupal (545), Jiribam (551), Kamjong (419), and Pherzawl (77).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (328), Imphal East (239), Thoubal (79), Churachandpur (66), Kangpokpi (23), Tamenglong (8), Bishnupur (55), Senapati (4), Ukhrul (12), Kakching (43), Chandel (13), Noney (2), Tengnoupal (4), Jiribam (2), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .
It must be mentioned that the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 17,799 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 20,753 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,45,097 tests per million population against the national average of 2,61,924 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.60 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 8773 samples were tested and the single day test positivity rate was 9.38 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate further rises to 7.26 per cent.
