Imphal, December 08 2021: Social worker Sangakpam Joshila of Canchipur on Wednesday provided blankets, rice and other food items to Hope Home, a facility for orphaned children located at Takyel Khongbal Maning Leikai in connection with the upcoming Christmas festival.

Handing over the aids to pastor of the Home Khwairakpam Nilbir, Joshila said that children's homes are like temples where a great service of humanity is provided to the destitute children.

The society can move forward when its members come forward and help one another, she added.

Nilbir informed that the Home was established in 2002 at Tera Mayai Leikai and shifted to the current location in 2014 .

There are 16 inmates in the Home, which is exclusively for girls and some of them have even completed master courses.

He is running the Home with help from different individuals and organisations.

Sometimes, he also goes door to door selling fishes to run the Home, he revealed.
