Vijay Hazare Trophy : Manipur suffer 8 wicket loss to Nagaland

Manipur had a dismal start to the Vijay Hazare Trophy plate group campaign today in Jaipur as they lost by 8 wickets to Nagaland.
The opening round at Soul Feel Cricket Stadium, Jaipur saw Manipur winning the toss and electing to bat first.
However, it turned out to be a nightmarish innings as wickets fell in quick succession and in regular intervals, losing Nitesh first on duck to SS Mundhe in the second delivery of the second over.
Abu Nechim then trapped key Manipur batters Bonny Chingangbam lbw on 1, bowled Karnajit on 2 and Narsingh Yadav on 10 leaving the State batting line up in tatters and reducing Manipur to 4-21 in 6.1 overs.
Manipur were 5-40 as Nagaho inflicted run out of Jayanta who was on way to his 16th run and before the State could add another run, Johnson was dismissed on golden duck by Imliwati who went on to remove Langlonyamba (12) and Kishan (12).R Jonathan then removed Thomas on 7 and sent Bishworjit packing on golden duck to skittle Manipur out for 80 runs in 32.3 overs.
Nagaland then rode on a half century by SS Mundhe (51off 96 balls) to cruise to 83 for 2 in 28.3 overs.
After Nagaland's Joshua was run out scoreless to Johnson to finish, Bishorjit claimed a wicket sparing 23 in 9 overs which included two maidens.
Manipur will play Tripura in the next match on November 9 .
