Imphal, December 08 2021:
While lauding the police and the people for the seizure of huge quantity of drugs worth over Rs 500 crore in Moreh town on Tuesday, United Committee Manipur (UCM) has demanded the government to identify and arrest the owner of the narcotics drugs within ten days.
In a release, UCM IPR secretary Leisem -ba Lamaba said that such seizure of illicit drugs is not the first time in Manipur.
There have been many such drug seizures in the past, but unfortunately the drug owners were never found or arrested.
The drug business worth lakhs and crores of rupees could not be done by any simple layman.
It is suspected that the owner oi the illicit drug business could not be found as they are powerful people.
To clear this suspicion, the owner of the recently seized drug should be traced and arrested without delay, he added.
The secretary also urged the government to work sincerely so as to uproot the drug menace from Manipur.
