Shutdown suspended

Kangpokpi, December 08 2021:
The proposed 48 hours total shutdown called by by Kangpokpi bodies in connection with the Asian Highway expansion project has been suspended, reports our correspondent.
According to Sadar Hills Chiefs' Association, the decision to suspend the proposed total shutdown was taken along with its confederating units yesterday night after a talk had been initiated and the Government has promised to resolve the issue at the earliest.
It further stated that the appeal of the Thadou Baptist Association India and KBC Men Society was also considered as the TBA-I will celebrate its Golden Jubilee at Motbung model village and KBC Men Society will hold an important assembly at Moreh.
Also, the association warned that if the Government remains indifferent and fails to come up with an acceptable solution to the issue, the suspended agitation will be revoked immediately.
