NPP will emerge as single largest party: Dy CM

Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joykumar has claimed that the National People's Party (NPP) will emerge as the single largest party by winning maximum seats in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly elections.
Y Joykumar, who is also the National vice president of NPP, made the above statement while according warm welcome to Irengbam ongbi Nalini (Mema) who recently joined the party and is also intending to contest the upcoming election from Oinam Assembly Constituency during a function held at Mayol Hall at Iroisemba today.
He further stated that NPP is a National political party founded from Manipur which prioritizes on the development of the North East region.
NPP is also among the eight National political parties recognised by ECI, he added.
Stating that NPP will work in coordination with the people of the State which will help ultimately help in establishing a strong foothold, he expressed belief that the party will win with a huge margin in the upcoming election thereby contributing majorly in forming the Government.
Later, the new member Irengbam Ongbi Nalini was accorded a warm welcome and was presented a NPP scarf by the Deputy Chief Minister.
Speaking at the occasion, I Nalini lauded the NPP's ideal of regionalism and its sincere efforts for the upliftment of the people of North East region.
She went on to state that owing to the above reasons, she joined the party.
Adhering strongly to the principles of NPP, she asserted that she will work earnestly for the welfare of women.
In today's function, Sheikh Noorul Hassan, general secretary (organisation), NPP Manipur also stated that the agenda to include Meitei and Meitei Pangal in the ST list of Indian Constitution will be included in the election manifesto of NPP.
Further, agenda to rectify land reforms policy to bring in an equal society will also be included in the manifesto, he added.
