Will remind Centre on lifting AFSPA: Biren

Chief minister N Biren said that the state government has been demanding the Centre to repeal AFSPA and it will remind the Centre again in this regard.
The CM was launching BJP's 'Involving public aspirations in our party's manifesto' campaign in a function held at JN Manipur Dance Academy, here on Wednesday.
Responding to queries fielded by media persons after the function, Biren said that the-Nagaland killing was an unfortunate incident.
The government also wants to lift AFSPA from the state and it will remind the Centre in this regard, he reiterated.
Earlier in the event, the CM said that BJP might be the first party to call for public opinions in framing its election manifesto.
The initiative was taken up in line with Prime Minister's vision of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, he said while calling for concrete suggestions that could help in bringing equal development and unity in the state.
Asserting that 80 per cent of what the party promised in its 2017 election manifesto have been delivered, Biren said that his government has improved conditions of national highway, implemented ILP System, conducted recruitment of two battalions of IRB, and assisted several new entrepreneurs in creating job opportunities for many under Startup and StandUp schemes.
He urged the public to send their opinions and suggestions to [email protected] for inclusion in the election manifesto while assuring of speeding up developmental projects.
He also said that suggestion boxes will be installed in major markets and all assembly constituencies.
BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda, Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra, general secretary organisation Abhay Giri and other party leaders attended the launch programme.
