Imphal, June 01 2021:
We should stop criticizing the Government which has been doing everything it can to control the pandemic and save lives during this dreaded pandemic.
Instead we all should support the Government and provide useful suggestions to help fight the pandemic.
RK Anand, Executive Member, BJP Manipur Pradesh, said this while inspecting the mass testing conducted at Kumari High School in Hiyangthang today as a part of mass testing drive launched by Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
He said early testing and detection are very critical as it will ensure that right care is given to an individual infected by the virus at the right time.
If anyone was found positive, the doctors will advised them on SOP to be followed and medications to be taken and it will be cured in time and a lot of fatalities in the state could have been prevented if they had undergone test and were given right medical care in time.
Many could have been also save if they had taken vaccine.
If one turned out negative, they should still isolate themselves for a week or so and not interact with anyone, he added.
The mass testing initiated by Chief Minister N Biren Singh is a good initiative and all political parties should support the Government initiative and leave all 'narrow political views aside during this critical time.
He also reiterated the need to ramp up vaccination as the rate at which it is going in the state is slow.
As Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC does not have a standing MLA at present, all the local clubs, Meira Paibis and Covid task force should join hand and approached the Government to open more vaccination centres.
If Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC had a standing MLA, managing Covid care centres and other efforts would have been easy with funds provided from MLA Local Area Development Fund.
He urged the Government to give the power of MLA or atleast the financial power to DC Imphal West so that funds for the same can be utilised or keep the ACs without any standing MLA under the supervision of Chief Minister or group of Ministers.
RK Anand also extended financial assistance and distributed face masks and sanitizer to volunteers who are helping the mass testing drive in Hiyangthang.
