Covid claims 18 more lives, infects 798 in state

Covid-19 has claimed 18 more lives and infected 798 people in the last 24 hours as the daily positivity rate dropped to 13.95 per cent on Tuesday.
With the addition of 798 cases, the caseload has reached 8942 out of which 4921 are recuperating in home isolation and the remaining 4021 undergoing treatment in different healthcare facilities including district hospitals and Covid Care Centres.
So far, 23,361 positive cases and 470 death cases have been reported in the state since the beginning of the year while 6098 new cases and 105 death cases were added in the last seven days.
The 18 fatalities reported on Tuesday included a 54-year-old male (IW), a 65-year-old male (IE), a 65-year-old male (Kak), a 48-year-old male (IW), a 48-year-old male (IE), a 74-year-old male (Jiri), a 51-year-old male (IW), a 67-year-old male (IE), a 74-year-old female (Kpi), a 38-year-old male (Tbl), a 69-year-old male (CCpur), a 63-year- old male (CCpur), a 35-year-old female (IW), a 35-year-old male (Noney), a 49-year-old male (IW), a 62-year-old female (IE), a 60-year-old female (Kak) and a 70-year-old male (IE) who died at Shija Hospitals (5), DH Jiribam (1), Raj Medicity (2), CCC Kangpokpi (1), DH Thoubal (1), DH Churachandpur (2), RIMS (5) and JNIMS (1) hospital respectively.

The cumulative number of deaths is 825.According to official reports, the 798 new cases included 797 people (428 male & 369 female) from among the general population and one Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) jawan.
Their samples were tested at RIMS (30), JNIMS (47), District Hospitals (337) and other private testing centres (384).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (207), Imphal West (323), Thoubal (81), Bishnupur (49), Kakching (14), Ukhrul (19), Churachandpur (52), Chandel (3), Senapati (13), Tamenglong (8), Kang- pokpi (9) and Jiribam (19).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 629 patients were discharged from CAPF (16), home isolation (408), RIMS (31), JNIMS (18), BB (5), NSU (10), SHRI (13), LANVA (1), RD Wing (4), Babina Speciality Hospital (8), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (48), Jivan Hospital (6), Thoubal (12), Bishnupur (3), Kakching (8), Tamenglong (4), Tengnoupal (2), Churachandpur (11), Chandel (2) and Ukhrul (19).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 50,549 (general population - 47,788 and CAPF personnel - 3,761).Number of recovered cases is 41,782 (general population - 38,060 and CAPF personnel - 3,722) and number of active cases is 8,942 (general population - 8,908 and CAPF personnel - 34).The recovery rate is 81.05 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1460 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 543 B - type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
District Hospitals and government institutions have 323D,71B, filled cylinders and district/sub-division wise allocation is Bishnupur (23D,1B), Chandel (34D,8B), Churachandpur (62D,0B), Senapati (40D,0B), Thoubal (51D,22B), Ukhrul (11D,7B), Tamen- glong (20D,5B), Jiribam (36D,11B), Moreh (16D,5B), Kamjong (3D,1B), Kangpokpi (4D,0B), Kakching (17D,8B), Noney (2D,0B) and Pherzawl (4D,3B).So far, 3,88,761 individuals have been administered Covid vaccine including 80,335, who have received the second dose.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, the number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (18,470), Imphal East (12,074), Thoubal (3775), Churachandpur (3708), Kang- pokpi (1457), Tamenglong (1818), Bishnupur (2838), Senapati (1228), Ukhrul (1159), Kakching (2168), Chandel (869), Noney (506), Tengnoupal (516), Jiribam (485), Kamjong (403) and Pherzawl (75).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (313), Imphal East (216), Thoubal (77), Churachandpur (64), Kangpokpi (21), Tamenglong (8), Bishnupur (52), Senapati (4), Ukhrul (11), Kakching (37), Chandel (12), Noney (2), Tengnoupal (3), Jiribam (2), Kamjong (3), and Pherzawl (0).However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 16,613 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 20,262 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 2,33,180 tests per million population against the national average of 2,49,064 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.60 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 5720 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 13.95 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate further rises to 7.12 per cent.
