MLA Thaisii hands over medicines for Karong people

Chairman of Management cum Enforcement Committee for 47-Karong A/C and local MLA DD Thaisii on Tuesday handed over medicines for the people of his constituency.
The medical consignment was handed over to MO incharge Dr Halounii Hyppolitus by Committee convenor and Purul SDO PP Ronald in the presence of CMO Senapati Dr Pfokreho and other committee members including RK Kaba, S Thaile and additional SP Tholu Rocky.
Mention may be made here that soon after the second wave of Covid-19 hit the district, the Management cum Enforcement Committee for 47-Karong A/C swung into action and set up Community Home Isolation Centre (CHIC) at DIET Centre, TNK Senapati village for those asymptomatic positive patients who do not have facilities for home isolation.
The committee is working round the clock to help the district administration and the medical team.
Ever since the detection of many Covid-19 positive cases at Koide village, the committee has provided the much-needed medicines like Vitamin C plus Zinc, Calcium plus D3, Paracetamol tablet, cough syrup, antibiotics and others to Covid positive people through the MOs i/c of Oinam Hill PHC, Phaibung Khullen PHC and other sub centres under the A/C .
With Koide village, where there are more than 100 positive cases, becoming a great concern, 100 oximeters were handed over to the medical team to monitor the patients.
Moreover, other preventive materials like sodium hypochlorite, pumps, hand sanitizers, gloves and face masks were handed over to the village authorities and volunteers of Koide village in the past.
All the positive patients are being monitored round the clock by the medical team and volunteers ever since the outbreak of the pandemic in the village.
There is, however, no fatality report and the health condition of all of them is reportedly getting better with each passing day.
The SDO/BDO Purul informed that after staying five more days in the isolation centre they would be discharged if no serious case is reported from the village.
The management committee in coordination with the Police team stationed at Koide village is also overseeing the curfew enforcement in the village and looking after their essential requirements from time to time.
It is also reported that the Police team from Tadubi Police station has been doing a commendable job in enforcing curfew and containment zone orders at Koide village.
