Imphal, June 01 2021:
Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) has appealed to the state government to take up necessary measures to ensure that NFSA beneficiaries get their full share of food grains provided by the state government, especially during the current Covid-19 crisis.
In a statement, KIMACS said that people are suffering due to the pandemic and restrictions imposed by the government to contain the virus for the last one month.
In such a situation, providing lesser quantity of food grains allocated by the central government under PMGKAY is uncalled for and the state government should take up effective measures to address this issue, which is being reported from different parts of the state, it said.
The statement further appealed to the government to clarify if the state is getting the allocation for sugar, kerosene oil, flour and others under PDS from the Centre or not.
