Many convey best wishes, MOA announces reward to medalists

Even as Manipur Olympic Association (MOA) has announced cash reward of Rs 1 lakh to every state Olympians who win medals at London Olympics, which is due to commence from tomorrow, various individuals and organizations have extended their best wishes to the five Olympians from Manipur who are participating in the biggest sporting extravaganza of the world.
The five Olympians from Manipur who are going to perform in various disciplines are MC Mary Kom (women's boxing), Laishram Devendro Singh (man's boxing), Ngangbam Soniya Chanu (women's weighlifting), Bombayla Laishram ( archery) and Th Kothajit (hockey) .
Conveying its greeting, Manipur Weightlifting Association said, "We believe that the five state Olympians will showcase their best performances in the London Olympic 2012 to outshine others.
May God bless them to win medals and bring laurels to the state" .
United Committee Manipur (UCM) wished "May the five state Olympians outshine players of the whole world in the London Games and come home with medals and jubilant faces" .
United People's Front (UPF) said "O! Five brave children of Manipur, face, fight and dominate the whole world in the London Games and come back with medal as winner" .
Indo ASEAN-Friendship Organisation, Manipur (IAFOM) said "Wish you all the best of lucks to win medals in the London Olympics.
May the Lainingthou and Lairembi bless you with the strength of iron and quality of a stone in facing your rivals" .
Meanwhile, Manipur People's Party (MPP) today organised mass-prayer for the five selected Olympic participants of the state.
The mass-prayer ritual was performed by four religious priests of Hindu, Meitei Sanamahi, Muslim and Christian faiths for the player Bombayla (Archery), Devendro (Boxing) Sonia (Weight lifting) Mary Kom (Boxing) and Kothajit (Hockey) .
After the mass prayer, speaking to media persons Manipur People's Party president, Sanasm Umananda wishes luck and goodwill to the Olympic participants from the state, and proclaimed that we should be proud of all the participants being selected for the world most prestigious sport events.
The mass prayer was particularly performed to wish them the best of luck so that they may come back with glory and medals for the country and the state, the MPP president also said.
