Senapati, October 24 2021: In a rare incident, a video of nursing officer S Christina (26) from Oinam Hill village in Senapati district interacting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been doing rounds on social media.

With her interaction with the Prime Minister at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi on October 21, Christina daughter of late KT Samuel Sangdua has become a social media sensation within a few hours.

She interacted with the Prime Minister when he visited the hospital to salute health workers as India achieved a milestone of administering over one billion (100 crores) covid shots.

Notably Christina is said to have administered more than 15,000 doses of Covid shots so far.

Sharing her experience to Hills Hornbill Express in a telephonic conversation, Christina said that she was nervous at first as she suddenly got an opportunity to interact with such a Prime Minister.

Christina said that, soon after the interaction she was surrounded and interviewed by around 15-20 media organizations.

Christina completed her class 10 and 12 from Don Bosco School, Maram in Senapati and then pursued BSc Nursing at AIIMS Patna and MSc Nursing at AIIMS Delhi.

She has been posted at RML hospital Delhi since last year in the midst of the pandemic.

She was in the surgery ICU section in RML Hospital and later got placed in the vaccination section after January 16 this year and has administered more than 15,000 doses so far.

Christina's family resides at Christian Colony in Senapati and she has two brothers and two sisters.

In the viral video, the Prime Minister asked her a lot of questions on vaccination and her experience.

She informed the PM that it has been a long journey for her and a satisfying one.

"I am proud to have administered 15,000 doses as of today.

In the initial days, people were hesitant but gradually as everyone came forward, the hesitancy declined and confidence in vaccination improved.

People also started cooperating," said Christina as she interacted with the Prime Minister.

"I told the PM how challenging the task was and that we often meet people who come to the hospital but are still scared to take the jab, so we have to counsel them.

But we knew that we were playing an unforgettable role in the service of the Nation and despite all of these challenges, we were constantly self-motivated," she said.

When she told Modi that she was from Manipur, the PM asked her a couple of questions about her hometown and also about her education, she said.

The PM was accompanied to the hospital by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

It may be mentioned that on October 21, the Prime Minister hailed the vaccination milestone as a triumph of Indian science and the collective spirit of 130 crore Indians.
