197 loaded trucks/tankers reach Imphal

Imphal, November 16 2016:
Altogether 197 loaded trucks including 120 oil tankers/LPG bullet tankers, 15 trucks loaded with cement, 29 trucks loaded with rice and 33 trucks loaded with different essential commodities reached Imphal tonight.
The tankers which reached Imphal tonight included 32 petrol tankers, 47 diesel tankers, 37 LPG bullet tankers, two SK Oil tankers and two ATF tankers.
The security personnel which escorted the 197 tankers/loaded trucks up to Imphal tonight will leave for Jiribam together with empty trucks/tankers on Friday.
They will again escort loaded trucks and tankers up to Imphal.
Meanwhile, many Imphal-bound oil tankers stranded at Khatkhati have already started moving toward Silchar and Jiribam, informed a source.
Meanwhile, CAF&PD Minister Ksh Biren today convened a meeting with leading businessmen of Imphal city (groceries/gala maal) today and discussed various issues arising out of the economic blockade called by the UNC.
The meeting resolved that all shops should remain open whether stock is available or not and availability of stocks and their prices should be displayed on the board.
No shop should hike prices of their stocks on the excuse of economic blockade, reads the third resolution.
