Imphal, November 16 2016:
Some customers of UCO Bank, Mantripukhri branch, who were denied the cash withdrawal from the bank in the last few days have expressed their anguish over the conduct of the bank authorities.
When enquired by The Sangai Express it was learnt that the bank has not authorized any cash withdrawal today owing to cash shortage.
The branch manager was not present to comment on the problems faced of the customers.
One official of the UCO bank said the manager had left to collect cash from the head office in Imphal.
David, who was among those standing in line to withdraw cash, said the bank has not allowed any of its customers to withdraw cash when banks all across the State capital are allowing it.
"There is already shortage of cash among the people and such inconvenience by the bank has added to our woes," he added.
UCO Bank of Mantripukhri branch distributed cash to only 20 persons on November 15 and declared that its cash reserve has gone empty.
David has urged the authorities concerned to look into the matter at the earliest and make necessary arrangements to make cash available at the branch.
While other customers continued to deposit their cash, there was no sign of cash withdrawal.
