Bride to be found dead, fiance's house destroyed

Bishnupur, March 15 2021:
A 22-year-old soon to be bride was found dead suspiciously in Bishnupur district and angry mobs have destroyed two houses including that of her fiance alleging conspiracy.
The lifeless body of the girl, identified as M Malika, was found some 600 metres from the house of her fiance's sister at Islampur at around 1 pm today.
She was allegedly called by her fiance, Nongjaimayum Anish (27) yesterday on the account that his father was ill and was found dead today, said sources.
Malika was daughter of Moulabi Musnam Nijamuddin of Kwakta Municipal Council Ward No 7 while the fiance, Anish is son of Md Jalaluddin of Terakhong.

Even as Ikhai Police arrived at the scene where the girl was found dead to control any untoward incidents, an angry mob destroyed the house of Anish near Terakhong PHC (Public Health Centre) .
When police rushed to control, another mob also destroyed the house of Anish's sister.
As the situation worsened, Bishnupur district Superintendent of Police, Priyadarshini Laishram rushed to the area with additional force.
According to one of her friends, Malika and Anish had eloped and they were to be married soon.
She was called at Anish's house as his father was said to be ill yesterday.
However, she was found dead today, the friend said, adding Malika's death is suspicious.
Meanwhile, the family of Anish have reportedly gone hiding.
Some of the people present at the incident sites also alleged hands of the fiance's family in her death and appealed to the Government and authorities concerned to investigate and arrest the culprits responsible.
They also demanded justice for Malika at the earliest.
Police have registered a case and additional forces have been sent in to maintain law and order.
Later late in the evening the body was deposited at RIMS morgue.
The police is however yet to establish the nature of her death.
