Ibobi stresses on self-employment

Chief Minister O Ibobi has urged educated unemployed youth of the State to avail the self-employment opportunities initiated by the State Govt so as to improve the State's economy and usher in development and peaceful atmosphere.
The Chief Minister was addressing a mega awareness programme cum inauguration of block level handloom cluster held under National Handloom Development Programme and Integrated Skill Development Scheme.
The programme was organised by Commerce and Industries Dept today at Basu ground, Khangabok , Thoubal district.
O Ibobi said that efforts to provide employment to educated unemployed youth of the State has become a headache to the State Govt.It would be not possible to provide white collar jobs to all the educated unemployed youth of the State, he said.
He also said that there are about 25,000 vacant posts in different departments of the State.
Due to unhealthy economy of the State, the State Govt is trying to fill some vacancies based on minimum requirement.
Commerce and Industries Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Parliamentary Secretary K Meghachandra, MLA K Ranjit Singh, MLA Y Surchandra, MLA Fajur Rahim, Commissioner (Commerce and Industries) VK Dewangan, Director (Industries) B John, DC Thoubal T Ranjit attended the programme amongst others.
