Imphal, March 05 2016 :
The Committee on Protection of Tribal Rights (CoPoTR) has
today asked the authority concerned of Chandel district hospital
to maintain transparency in functioning of the district hospital.
Responding to the statement of the CMO, Chandel
wherein it stated that Chandel district hospital has been
functioning well despite some shortages, CoPoTR alleged
that there was lack of medical facilities at the time of the
inspection.
In a statement, CoPoTR said that achievements pointed
out by the Chandel CMO contradict with complaints made
by the patients during child delivery and other medical
services in the district hospital.
It further asked why maximum patients are referred to
hospital in Imphal if the district hospital is functioning well.
If construction of staff quarters type II, III and IV is
completed, why are they not inaugurated till now, CoPoTR
questioned.
People of the district want development and efficient
Government officers in the district, the statement added.
