Imphal, March 31:
The demand for holding plebiscite under the UN supervision to resolve the existing politico-military conflict between Manipur and India is gaining ground.
A public meeting held today at Irilbung playground in Imphal East district has also endorsed the proposal of holding the plebiscite at the earliest possible.
Organised by Iril Mapal Ereibak Kanba Nupi Lup in association with other local Meira Paibi bodies, clubs and organisations of the area, the meeting attended by a large number, seriously deliberated on the issue and resolved to launch a mass movement in this connection.
The meeting also decided to prevail upon the UN and Government of India to prepare necessary groundwork for holding the plebiscite as well as on the international community for support and co-operation in this regard.
