Volunteers of Manipuri students' Federation have rounded up four persons on charges of trying to siphon off kerosine oil, said president of the student body L Sanjoy Singh.
Interacting with news-persons today, Sanjoy informed of one Thiyam Babu (50) of Thiyam Konjil being rounded up by the volunteers while trying to ferry 700 litres of K oil at Rs 24 per litre from Bakliwal enterprises in North AOC.
Contending that Babu's intention was to sell the essential item at exorbitant rate in the black market, Sanjoy also conveyed of the student body confiscating a jeep and its driver S Lukhoi of Chingamathak Nameirakpam Leikai for being a party to the unholy act.
The second individual nabbed on the same ground has been identified as Yambem Lokendro of Palace Compound and charge levelled against him pertains to procuring 1000 litres of K oil from PCTC located at near the southern gate of DM college.
A Tata DI in which the goods were loaded along with its driver S romesh have been taken in the custody of MSF, Sanjoy maintained who conveyed that the seized items would be distributed among the general at Government prescribed rate.

Seriously noting that some traders have hiked prices of essential commodities taking advantage of the ongoing ATSUM sponsored economic blockade the MSF president warned of strong action against anybody found selling goods at exorbitant rates.
