MUSU condemns

The Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) has strongly condemned the reported search conducted by the police inside MU Boys' Hostels.
Addressing reporters today at its office, a MUSU member, A Babina said that conducting search operation at MU Boys' Hostels without any authorisation is not acceptable.
She said that a team of the police personnel came yesterday to conduct search inside the boys' hostels.
However, after reaching an agreement with the MU authority the room to room search was conducted this morning around 8.30 in the presence of MUSU members, she said.
No arrest or recovery was made.
Pointing out that police conducted a search inside the hostels on Feb 14, Babina also appealed the MU authority not to allow entry of security forces inside the campus without any valid reason.
She also urged the police not to conduct search or raid inside the campus without obtaining due permission from the authority concerned.
In case of any suspicion, the police have to take the approval of the Governor to conduct search inside the MU premises, RK Pritam, general secretary of Ph D ACEE said.
