Thangmeiband protests blast

Residents of Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai, Polem Leikai and adjacent localities vehemently condemned the bomb blast that occurred late last night.
A large number of people also staged sit-in-protest today to condemn the blast that occurred close to a betel leaf godown near the office of Thangmeiband Youth Organisation (THYO), organiser of today's demonstration, in collaboration with Thangmeiband United Club.
At the end of the protest session, a four point resolution was adopted including vehement condemnation against the blast and appealing to all concerned to refrain from such acts in the future.
The other resolutions include shut-down of the betel leaf godown till differences, if any, has been settled amiable between parties concerned and urging the State Government to initiative necessary security measures for checking unwanted incidents in residential areas.
Taking serious note of triggering blast at residential pockets, THYO president Aribam Gautam said the powerful explosion not only damaged houses close to the blast site but also resulted in many people complaining about hearing impairment.
Observing that due to the blast taking place at around 10.30 pm there was no human casualty, Gautam nevertheless stated that the incident will certainly have serious psychological impact upon the locals.
Regretting recent series of blasts at public places, he also demanded that all those involved in the blast owe an explanation to the people.
